every cell and i a mouth is a movement-based work for three dancers and one choreographer/director. An attempt to resist traditional notions of theatrical and artistic product, there is no music, no shifts in lighting, and no significant production aspects, only the power of the living, breathing human body.
The work explores the endless possibilities inherent in the body to express, challenge and transform the act of perception, and to reinsert sensuality, proximity and intimacy into a shared public space through an exploration of touch and consent. Throughout the work I give live direction to the dancers, creating a charged sense of the “now” for both performers and audience.
